Highly Recommended: Subtle and Wolf Parade Collaboration

Subtle's new release, Yell and Ice, is not necessarily a follow-up to last year's For Hero: For Fool, but more of a collection of new collaborations and remixes. The sound is a thunderous and highly dynamic mix of conscious hip-hop, ambient drone and post-everything.

On "Middle Class Haunt," Wolf Parade's Dan Boeckner's stuffy vocals cruise along as Dose One's high-pitched vocals ride shotgun. The music is a shifting cascade of folk, classical, hip-hop and post-post-post-rock. Both vocalists sound in desperate need of Tylenol Cold and Flu, but it makes for an awesome collaboration. All Wolf Parade fans are required to download this.

Other indie favs featured on the record: Notwist and TV on the Radio!
