Neder Pop, Neder Rock, and Neder Hop: It's More Than The Cheese That Makes Holland So Tasty

I was lucky enough to live in Amsterdam for a while and during my stay I was introduced to the wonderfully peculiar world of Dutch music. The following three Youtube videos represent three of my most astounding finds, and by astounding I mean "Oh my God, this is so bizarre."

First up is Focus, a yodeling 70's Prog Rock band best known for this single, "Hocus Pocus."

We honor Dutch music from the 80's the only appropriate way- with Doe Maar. This Dutch version of the Police was SO popular in Holland, it makes for an weirdly interesting sociological case study.

Finally I have to touch on the world-wide spread of Hip Hop, specifically in the form of Neder Hop. That's right, Neder Hop. This hit single "Watskeburt" by De Jeugd Van Tegenwoordig translates into "What's up?" All the Nederkids love it.
