PEZBAND: POWER-POP SUGAR FIENDS
Perfect pop= ball cleavage
I first found out about the Pezband, a power-pop/blues band formed in 71, from a mixtape I picked up at a Calvin Johnson show last year entitled, Whimpy Power-Pop. I played the cassette non-stop and the Pezband stood out as one of the most solid among their fellow whimps.
The single, "Stop! Wait A Minute," is a up-beat song with Cheap Trick guitar tones, subtle yet brisk piano, and perfectly gelled duel harmonies. This ain't bubblegum, this is a healthy dose of vintage power-pop!
