Philly is The Place To Be For Shows This Week

This week there is no excuse to not have fun, especially if you live in Philly. The weather will be nice and a good variety of great bands will be visiting our fair city. Check out the insane list:

Mon. 9/29: Black Kids + The Virgins @ The Church

Who says the weekend has to end on Sunday? Oh yea, you're job does. Still, why not dance one more time at The Black Kids show at the Church? The weather is a bit cooler, which means you'll actually be able to breathe in there.

Tues. 9/30: CYHSY @ The Barbary, Chrome @ MRoom, The Juan Maclean @ JB's, Pinback @ TLA

Best Tuesday ever? Possibly. The bad news (unless you have a ticket) is that Clap Your Hands Say Yeah's second show at the teeny tiny Barbary is sold out. The good news? Other-worldly post-punk stalwarts Chrome/Helios Creed will be performing at the equally tiny MRoom. If that doesn't suit you, but you just don't wanna leave the Fishtown area, head to JB's for The Juan Maclean. Then again, you can always take stroll down to the most charming street in town and catch your late-90's favs Pinback at the TLA.

Wed. 10/1: Ratatat @ Starlight Ballroom, Stereolab + Atlas Sound @ The Troc, The Bird and the Bee @ World Live Cafe

Oh man the decisions! Should you bare witness to the buzzing, psuedo Hip-Hop sounds of Ratatat? Should you pay tribute to the legendary gods of moogy-pop, aka Stereolab and discover Bradford Cox's ethereal mind-fuck known as Atlas Sound? Maybe you just want to keep the summer alive and enjoy a nice cup of The Bird and the Bee. Sugary-sweet indeed. You'll make the right call, we are sure of it.

Thurs. 10/2: Fleet Foxes @ Starlight Ballroom

It's Fall and Thursday's temperature should prove that. Why not venture over to the spacious Starlight Ballroom and treat yourself to the pleasant sounds of Fleet Foxes?
