R.I.P. Pink Floyd's Rick Wright

R.I.P. Pink Floyd's Rick Wright

Sadly, legendary Pink Floyd keyboardist Richard "Rick" Wright passed away today at the age of 65.

As a founding member of the insanely influential band, Wright played a major role by incorporating his progressive style into such Floyd classics as "Interstellar Overdrive," "Careful With That Axe, Eugene," and "The Great Gig in the Sky." Seriously, listen to Piper At The Gates of Dawn again. Nothing quite like Wright's keyboard wizardry. *Side note: he also sang the lead on "Astronomy Domine"!

In fact, the first Pink Floyd song I fell in love with, "Paintbox," was written by Wright in 1967. I guess you could say it changed the way I thought about pop music. Thanks for being amazing Rick, and may you rest in peace.
