Jerry Reed wrote a song called "Amos Moses" about a Cajun boy who likes to club alligators over the head with a tree stump. Apparently, Amos' bitterness was traced back to his father's abusive parenting. See, when Amos was a boy his father would tie a rope around his neck, throw him in the swamp, and use him for alligator bait. That surely is enough to make one turn to a life of illegal swamp poaching.

This one is for you, Steve Irwin. RIP

This song is so weird, It really is. I have no idea where this story came from, or how Jerry thought of it. I do love listening to it though, mainly because of Jerry's playful storytelling. Check it out and make sure you stay out the Louisiana bayou.
