The Beach Boys Go Vegetarian
Brian Wilson and fellow Beach Boy Al Jardine wrote the song "Vegetables" to be released on the Boys 1967's SMiLE album. The album was canceled but the song survived, making the cut for The Beach Boys Smiley Smile record.
Wilson and Jardine were trailblazers in the world of vegetable instrumentation. Long before The Vegetable Orchestra began wooing crowds, the Boys had Paul McCartney chomp away on stalks of celery rather than record traditional percussion.
