The Stooges Cover Madonna's "Ray Of Light"
Yeah, that's right. How frigging weird is this? To see The Stooges cover a late 90s Madonna song for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? I suppose all is fair in rock and publicity.
This performance was more strategic than a sheer press opportunity. In fact Stooge guitarist Ron Asheton stated how Madonna asked the Stooges to perform as an act of protest. Despite six nominations, the Stooges have never been inducted into the Hall of Fame and by inviting the boys on stage, Madonna was sending a message. Oh Madge, you are ever the consomate provocateur.
