Videos: Top 5 Brian Eno Moments
Hands down Brian Eno is no joke. The man is a genius- full stop. Lately I've been leafing through A Year With Swollen Appendices: The Diary of Brian Eno and it has inspired me to post my personal top five Eno moments. Granted these instances are apt to change in time, but for now these are it for me.
#1. Roxy Music's 1972 debut album Roxy Music began with this gem of a single "Re-Make/ Re-Model." Dig Eno's feathered eppliettes
#2. The 1977-1979 Heroes, Low, Lodger/Berlin Trilogy. These records could have never been made were it not for Eno's Midas touch of studio production.
"Blackout" is one of my favorite cuts off the Heroes album. Here is a performance from his 1977 Stage tour.
#3. Devo's 1978 album Q:Are We Not Men? A: We are Devo!
Eno was a producer on this record and once again, it is amazing. This is a live performance of the single "Gut Feeling/ Slap Your Mammy" from that album.
#4. Talking Heads 1978 album More Songs About Buildings and Food
Another producer credit! This track "Thank You For Sending Me An Angel" opens the album in quintessential Eno style.
...and #5. from Eno's own 1977 Before and After Science album, "King's Lead Hat" in mp3 form.
